MoneyThumb Online sells conversions, not pages. Its converter products run from $24.95 a month for 5 conversions up to $3,999.95 for 6,000 conversions on an auto refill plan, across 13 purchasable tiers, and effective cost falls from $5.00 per conversion at the smallest tier to $0.67 at the largest. One conversion means one account on one monthly statement, whatever its page count, and unused conversions roll over while the subscription stays active. The lender products, PDF Insights and PDF Insights with Thumbprint, start at $499.95 and $599.95. This is an independent breakdown published by BankXLSX, a competing converter, with every figure read from MoneyThumb's own published product data on 11 August 2026. Last updated August 2026.
MoneyThumb meters a different unit from most of this category, which is the single reason sticker prices mislead here.
Nearly every cloud converter charges per page. MoneyThumb charges per conversion, and it defines one conversion as one account on one monthly statement no matter how long that statement runs. A 40 page business statement and a 2 page savings statement cost exactly the same.
The same product is sold as a monthly renewal, a yearly renewal, or an auto refill plan, and the per conversion rate is very different across the three. Monthly 60 conversions works out near $1,199 a year, while the yearly 800 conversion tier is $799.95.
Because the unit is per account per statement, a client with a checking account, a savings account, and two cards burns four conversions a month, not one. Twelve such clients is 576 conversions a year before anybody touches a credit card reconciliation.
MoneyThumb Online is sold separately for Spreadsheets, QuickBooks, Accounting, and Quicken. The tier ladders are near identical, so the choice is about output format rather than price, and buying two output formats can mean two subscriptions.
PDF Insights and Thumbprint are underwriting and document authenticity tools priced in the hundreds, not converters. Comparing their prices with a $24.95 converter subscription compares two unrelated things, and plenty of roundups do exactly that.
Whatever the unit, a converter that drops rows or breaks a running balance costs somebody an hour of repair. At a bookkeeper billing rate that hour exceeds most monthly plans, which is why testing on your own bank matters more than the price gap.
The questions that decide whether a conversion based plan fits your work, in the order worth asking them.
Add up every account and card you convert in a normal month, then multiply by twelve. That number, not your statement count and not your page count, is what selects a MoneyThumb tier.
Per conversion pricing rewards long statements and punishes short ones. If your typical statement runs 20 pages or more, MoneyThumb metering is in your favor. If most are 2 to 4 pages, per page pricing usually costs less.
Price your annual conversion count against monthly, yearly, and auto refill at the same volume. The gap between them is large, and MoneyThumb states the yearly option saves 33 percent over the monthly equivalent.
Because each output format is its own product, decide whether you need CSV and Excel, .qbo for QuickBooks, .qfx for Quicken, or OFX before you look at a price. Buying the wrong one means buying twice.
Not your cleanest. Use the scanned one, the credit union one with the odd layout, the one with check images. That is where converters separate, and it is the only test that predicts your real cost.
You are moving client financial records. MoneyThumb has historically appealed to firms that wanted desktop software precisely to avoid uploading client data, so confirm which of its products are cloud based before committing a firm.
Fifteen minutes of arithmetic that usually saves a tier, and sometimes a subscription.
List every account and card you process, count how many monthly statements each produces in a year, and add them up. Round up by roughly 20 percent for new clients and catch up work.
Tip: A solo bookkeeper with 15 clients averaging 3 accounts each needs about 540 conversions a year.
Read your number against the monthly, yearly, and auto refill columns in the table below, then divide price by conversions to get the unit rate. The cheapest shape at your volume is rarely the one you would guess.
Tip: Ignore product names. Compare conversions to conversions.
Run the same PDF through MoneyThumb and through the converter above, then check transaction count and closing balance against the document. Buy the one you would not have to verify by hand.
Tip: Use the converter at the top of this page to do our half of that test now.
US finance professionals deciding where a recurring conversion budget should go.
Convert many accounts across many clients every month, so the per account per statement unit adds up quickly and the annual conversion count is the number that decides the bill.
Face a hard seasonal spike from January to April. The roll over rule on MoneyThumb conversions suits that shape better than plans whose page allowance resets and expires every month.
MoneyThumb built its reputation on desktop converters for accountants who did not want client statements in a cloud service, and that heritage still drives a lot of its evaluation traffic.
Evaluate PDF Insights and Thumbprint rather than the converters, for statement analysis, scorecards, and document authenticity checks on loan files. Different product, different budget.
MoneyThumb Online converters cost between $24.95 and $3,999.95 depending on how many conversions you buy and which license shape you choose. The table below lists every purchasable tier we could confirm on the MoneyThumb Online for Spreadsheets product, with the effective cost per conversion, which is the figure that makes vendors comparable. The QuickBooks, Accounting, and Quicken versions of the same product use the same ladder.
| License and tier | Price | Conversions | Cost per conversion |
|---|---|---|---|
| Monthly renewal, 5 | $24.95 per month | 5 | $4.99 |
| Monthly renewal, 20 | $49.95 per month | 20 | $2.50 |
| Monthly renewal, 60 | $99.95 per month | 60 | $1.67 |
| Yearly renewal, 25 | $124.95 per year | 25 | $5.00 |
| Yearly renewal, 60 | $199.95 per year | 60 | $3.33 |
| Yearly renewal, 240 | $399.95 per year | 240 | $1.67 |
| Yearly renewal, 800 | $799.95 per year | 800 | $1.00 |
| Auto refill, 60 | $199.95 | 60 | $3.33 |
| Auto refill, 240 | $399.95 | 240 | $1.67 |
| Auto refill, 800 | $799.95 | 800 | $1.00 |
| Auto refill, 1,500 | $1,199.95 | 1,500 | $0.80 |
| Auto refill, 3,000 | $2,199.95 | 3,000 | $0.73 |
| Auto refill, 6,000 | $3,999.95 | 6,000 | $0.67 |
Figures read from MoneyThumb's own published product data on 11 August 2026. Auto refill plans are described as renewing yearly or when the balance runs low. Vendors change pricing without notice, so confirm on moneythumb.com before you buy.
A conversion is one account on one monthly statement, regardless of how many pages that statement contains. Reconverting the same file again does not consume a second conversion. This is the most important thing to understand about MoneyThumb pricing, because it is a genuinely different unit from the per page metering almost every cloud competitor uses.
The practical effect cuts both ways. A commercial checking statement running 35 pages costs one conversion, which is excellent value. A client with four accounts producing short two page statements costs four conversions a month, which is not. Work out which describes your book before you compare any prices at all.
No. MoneyThumb states that conversions are valid for the life of the subscription and that unused conversions roll over when the subscription renews. That is a real advantage over the page allowance model used by most cloud converters, where an unused monthly allowance simply disappears at the end of the cycle.
For seasonal work this matters more than the headline rate. A tax preparer who buys a yearly tier in December and burns most of it between January and April is not paying for eight idle months, which is exactly the trap a monthly page plan sets.
The cheapest entry point is the monthly renewal at $24.95 for 5 conversions. It is also the second most expensive way to buy conversions, at $4.99 each, roughly seven times the $0.67 rate at the largest auto refill tier. The genuinely cheapest tier per unit is the 6,000 conversion auto refill plan at $3,999.95.
The pattern is standard in metered software, but it is worth naming plainly: the entry tier is priced for access, not for value. If five conversions a month is truly all you need, the arithmetic is fine. If your count creeps toward twenty in a busy month, price the 20 conversion tier and the yearly options before you settle.
PDF Insights starts at $499.95 and PDF Insights with Thumbprint starts at $599.95, with higher tiers above those entry points. These are not converters. PDF Insights reads and analyzes financial documents to produce an underwriting scorecard for banks, fintechs, MCA funders, and mortgage lenders, and Thumbprint checks whether a submitted document is authentic. There is also an Insights API for CRM integration.
If you are a lender comparing statement analysis platforms, that is the MoneyThumb product line to look at, and the honest comparison set is Ocrolus and similar underwriting tools rather than spreadsheet converters. Our own bank statement converter for lenders page explains where a converter fits in that workflow and where it deliberately stops.
We are a competitor, so read this with that in mind and check both vendor sites yourself. The two tools meter different units, and that difference decides the answer more than either price list does.
| What you are comparing | MoneyThumb Online | BankXLSX |
|---|---|---|
| Metering unit | One conversion per account per monthly statement, any page count | Pages per month, so a long statement consumes more of the allowance |
| Entry paid plan | $24.95 per month for 5 conversions | $49 per month, or $24 per month billed yearly, for 2,500 base tier pages a month |
| Unused allowance | Rolls over and stays valid for the life of the subscription | Monthly page allowance resets each cycle |
| Pay once without subscribing | Not offered on the online products | One time packs, 300 pages for $19 or 500 for $29, credits do not expire |
| Output formats | Sold per format, a separate product for Spreadsheets, QuickBooks .qbo, Accounting OFX, and Quicken .qfx | Excel, CSV, OFX, QFX, QIF, and IIF from one account |
| Free option | Free trial offered on the product pages | Free demo plan, no credit card, no expiry date |
| Lender analysis | PDF Insights and Thumbprint, scorecards and document authenticity, from $499.95 | Structured data and AI smart reports, no lending decision or fraud scoring |
| Where it wins | Long statements, roll over that suits seasonal work, native .qbo and .qfx writing, a track record with US accountants since 2015 | Many short statements, all output formats in one subscription, a free tier that does not expire, and no subscription needed at all |
Work an example, because the units make this concrete. A bookkeeper handling 15 clients with 3 accounts each converts about 540 statements a year. On MoneyThumb that is 540 conversions, which lands on the 800 conversion yearly tier at $799.95. If those statements average 6 pages, the same work is about 3,240 pages a year, which fits inside a single month of our Starter allowance, and Starter is $288 a year billed annually. If instead the statements average 40 pages each, MoneyThumb charges the same $799.95 while the page count rises to 21,600, and the gap narrows considerably.
One caveat we should state rather than bury: our page allowances are expressed in base tier pages and are consumed faster on the strongest AI model, so 2,500 of our pages is not a like for like unit either. The comparison above is still directionally right for typical statement lengths, but the only way to settle it for your work is to convert one of your own statements in both tools. Our full bank statement converter pricing page shows how the tiers and the model split work.
For an accounting practice that needs native .qbo or .qfx files, converts long statements, and values conversions that roll over instead of expiring, MoneyThumb is a sensible buy and the yearly tiers are where it prices well. It has been in this niche since 2015, which counts for something in a category full of six month old wrappers.
It is a weaker fit in two situations. The first is high volume across many short statements, where per conversion pricing works against you and per page plans cost less. The second is a firm that wants one subscription covering every output format, since MoneyThumb sells those as separate products. If either describes you, compare alternatives before committing, starting with our MoneyThumb alternative breakdown and the wider best bank statement converter roundup.
Published reviews of MoneyThumb are generally positive on native QuickBooks and Quicken file output and on support responsiveness, with the recurring criticisms being the per conversion unit at multi account volume, the split of output formats across separate products, and an interface that reads older than newer cloud rivals. Treat review content in this category carefully. A lot of what ranks for these queries is written by competing vendors, this page included, and several such pages carry pricing that does not match the vendor data. Any review that will not show you its numbers is not worth much.
Both tools cost less than an hour of professional time, so price is rarely the deciding factor. What decides it is whether the spreadsheet comes back clean for the banks you actually work with. Take one real statement, ideally a scanned one or the one from the institution with the awkward layout, run it through both, and compare the transaction count and closing balance against the PDF. Ten minutes of that answers the question a pricing table cannot. Then check whether the output drops straight into your workflow, whether that is a QuickBooks bank statement converter path or a Quicken bank statement converter path.
MoneyThumb Online converters cost from $24.95 to $3,999.95. Monthly renewals run $24.95 for 5 conversions, $49.95 for 20, and $99.95 for 60. Yearly renewals run $124.95 for 25, $199.95 for 60, $399.95 for 240, and $799.95 for 800. Auto refill plans add 1,500 for $1,199.95, 3,000 for $2,199.95, and 6,000 for $3,999.95.
One conversion is one account on one monthly statement, whatever its page count. Reconverting the same file does not use a second conversion. A client with a checking account, a savings account, and two cards therefore consumes four conversions per month rather than one.
No. MoneyThumb states that conversions are valid for the life of the subscription and that unused conversions roll over when the subscription renews. That suits seasonal work better than page allowances that reset and expire every billing cycle.
The cheapest entry point is $24.95 a month for 5 conversions. At $4.99 per conversion it is also close to the most expensive per unit, about seven times the $0.67 rate on the 6,000 conversion auto refill tier. Price the 20 conversion and yearly tiers before settling on the smallest one.
MoneyThumb offers a free trial on its online converter product pages. Because any trial is limited, test the statements you find hardest first, such as scanned documents or statements from smaller banks and credit unions, rather than your cleanest native PDFs.
PDF Insights starts at $499.95 and PDF Insights with Thumbprint starts at $599.95, with higher tiers above those entry prices. These are lender tools that produce underwriting scorecards and check document authenticity, not spreadsheet converters, so they belong in a comparison with underwriting platforms.
It depends on statement length. Per conversion pricing wins when statements are long, because a 35 page statement costs the same as a 2 page one. Per page pricing wins when you process many short statements across multiple accounts, which is the more common bookkeeping pattern.
It depends what you are optimizing for. For many short statements across multiple accounts and every output format in one subscription, BankXLSX fits better. For built in transaction categorization with a direct accounting push, DocuClipper is the usual comparison. For reviewed extraction at lending volume, Ocrolus is a different class of product.
